Rain halts Indy 500 with Tony Kanaan in first place

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Heavy rain descended on the Brickyard Sunday afternoon, putting the brakes on the Indianapolis 500 after just 113 laps. If organizers are forced to end the race it would be the second shortest race in the history of the event. Rain was expected to end in the late afternoon, and the race could resume if the track dries sufficiently.
