Global Sukuk hits $24.5bn

According to the Sukuk Market Report First Half 2007, compiled by the Islamic Finance Information Service (IFIS), the global Sukuk (Islamic Bond) Market has hit an all-time high. It has a market value now totalling $24.5bn in H1 2007 - 75% higher than last year. The report highlighted major GCC players such as Qatar Real Estate Investment Company, DIFC Sukuk with more than $2bn orders, and DP World’s $1.5bn Sukuk.
