Writers Guild committee OKs three-year deal

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The negotiating committee of the Writers Guild of America voted unanimously to accept a tentative three-year deal with major Hollywood studios, clearing the way for final approval of the agreement by striking film and TV writers, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing a person familiar with the situation. The full board is meeting to discuss and vote on the contract, the Journal reported. Writers went on strike Nov. 5, paralyzing the entertainment industry.
